يروي المسلسل قصة عائلتين، مختلفة إحداهما تماماً عن اﻷخرى، الأولى عائلة "سحر" الفقيرة، التي لديها ثلاثة أولاد، بنتان وصبي، كانوا يعيشون في مدينة أنطاليا، تجبرهم الظروف على الانتقال إلى إسطنبول والعيش عند عائلة رجل الأعمال الثري الآغا كاراتشاي، والذي يعيش في قصره الكبير رفقة زوجته الجميلة سينيز وابنه الطائش جينك وابنته المهملة داملا، إضافة لابن أخيه المقعد نديم.

رغم ثروته الكبيرة فإن الآغا كاراتشاي دائماً ما تراه مهموماً بسبب ابن أخيه المقعد الذي يعيش معه بعد أن قُتل أبوه، "أي شقيق كاراتشاي" لذلك فإن هم الآغا الوحيد هو أن يزوج نديم لفتاة تهتم به وترعاه.

وعلى عكس اهتمام الآغا بابن أخيه تريد زوجته سينيز إبعاد نديم عن العائلة، فدائماً ما تستمر في خلق المشاكل له.

مع مرور الحلقات سنكتشف أنّ سبب كره سينيز لنديم ليس لأنه ابن أخي الآغا فقط وتريد التخلص منه، بل لأن نديم كان الشاهد الوحيد على إقامتها علاقةً سريةً مع والده، أي مع أخي زوجها، لذلك تتعمد دائماً إعطاءه المخدرات بطريقة سرية دون أن يشعر.

كل هذه الأحداث تدور من خلف ظهر الآغا، الذي يبدأ باليأس من محاولة علاج نديم، حتى تصبح الأمور أكثر تعقيداً عندما يعلم أنه يعاني من مشاكل في القلب، ولأنه يعرف تمام المعرفة أنه إذا مات فإن زوجته وأبناءه لن يهتموا بنديم، وسيتركونه بمفرده، وهو السبب الأساسي الذي دفع الآغا للبحث عن فتاة له تتزوجه.

The story of the Zalim Istanbul series

The series tells the story of two families, one of them completely different from the other, the first is the poor family of "Sahar", which has three children, two girls and a boy, who used to live in the city of Antalya. His grand palace is accompanied by his beautiful wife Seniz, his reckless son Genk and his neglected daughter Damla, in addition to his seat nephew Nadim.

Despite his great wealth, Aga Karachay always sees him concerned because of his crippled nephew who lives with him after his father was killed, “Karachai's brother,” so the Aga’s only concern is to marry Nadim to a girl who cares about him and takes care of him.
